• KOREAN BL DRAMA ALERT! Mr. Heart

From the company that brought us the adorable, soul crushing drama, Where Your Eyes Linger (너의 시선이 머무는 곳에 – noweeshee sonee momoonoon gutae), we are being gifted another Boys Love (BL) Korean Drama! 미스터 하트 (meesootoh hatuh – Mr. Heart)

Remember how soul crushing Where Your Eyes Linger was due to its short episodes and only being 8 episodes long? Well, this drama isn’t going to make you feel better as it is only set to be THREE episodes long. We admit, we threw our computer down when we saw that news. Here at K.F.C, we are hoping that since there are less episodes, they will be longer than 10 minutes. If not, we might have to fly our buts to South Korea, quarantine for two weeks, then find the director and throw some hands.

But we also don’t want to throw hands because the fact that WStory keeps us well fed with BL dramas, no matter the length, is reason enough not to complain. We have to support and keep them growing as the name that made BL Korean Dramas mainstream. So everyone who reads this: STAN WSTORY!

This drama, like Where Your Eyes Linger, also features a Produce 101 alumni, Lee Se Jin, who plays Sang Ha. A boy who loves to run fast, but not for long periods of time. Cheon Seung Ho, another idol/actor, plays Jin Won, a long distance runner who is on track (see what I did there) to becoming a world renowned marathon star, whose only goal is to be the best.

But when Jin Won starts being unable to maintain his times his coach decides he needs a pacemaker. Cue our little cutie Sang Ha. Of course, Jin Won is not a fan of this setup and is determined to ignore Sang Ha at all costs. And in like any hate to love story, that obviously doesn’t work. They become friends, but when their relationship changes from friends to possibly more can they make that move and not ruin everything they were working so hard to accomplish?

We will find out when the show premieres September 18th on Viki. How excited are you for this drama? If you want to chat about the show feel free to reach out to us on Instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt) or even TikTok (@koreanfromcontext). We would love to hear your thoughts on this upcoming show!

  • Get The Nail Look For Less

I never thought I would be writing an article about nails. I owned a surf and skate shop for 6 years. Manicures, tips, acrylic anything was an impossibility when I had to shave down grip tape nearly everyday. But when I closed up the shop, I decided to treat myself to a nice manicure. $60 later, and after crying “WHYYYYYYY?” trying to get them off, I chose to never get my nails done again.

Then one night, I was binge watching Hotel De Luna and I couldn’t stop gushing over IU’s awesome nails and nail art. And after getting sucked into some girl group k-pop music videos, I wanted to get my nails done all over again. Then I remembered the price tag, as well as how they grow out and all the other problems I had with them, I ended up choosing not to get them done again.

The following day, my husband and I had to grab some stuff from our local CVS, and I wandered down the makeup aisles and when I reached the end I saw press on nails. I giggled remembering I used to play with them when I was younger, but I noticed these were all adult sized nails, with gorgeous patterns, colors, and many of the shapes you could get at a nail salon. Some of them even reminded me of nails I had seen in the k-pop and k-drama world and I decided to grab a pair to try them out.

When I went to work the next day a ton of my coworkers were complimenting my nails. They asked where I get them done and I smiled and told them, “CVS for $9.”

When I tell you their eyes bulged out of their heads, they really did. They grabbed my hand so quick to look at the nails, still not believing me. I even took one of them, on our lunch break, to the CVS near the office to prove to her where I got them. They not only had the ones I bought, but even more options than my local CVS. And so I bought another pack.

I soon became “The girl with the nails” at work. I even had several people buy them saying they had become hooked on them and how much they save their monthly budgets! They came to show me all the different ones they were using. I loved having the connection with them. Sadly with Covid we can’t share these moments the same way anymore.

I even wore press-on nails on my wedding day, and got a ton of compliments! Best part? Half my bridal party did too!

I have become a nail addict and I am always looking for new brands of press on nails. My two most favorite press-on nail companies have been KISS (found in CVS, Walmart and a lot of other large chains) and PS… (Primark’s private label brand). KISS prices range from $8.99 to $12.99 depending on the style and art. And PS… is the best value with nails ranging from $2.50 to $3.50! Yes you read that correctly, $3 for a full set of nails!

These sets tend to last 7-10 days, which makes it fun to change up your nail style more often. I’ve had some that have lasted a full two weeks. While they still leave a little damage on your nail from removing them, I will say it’s a lot less than the acrylics I’ve had done professionally.

So go ahead and ball on a budget. Go out and try them for yourself! Tag us in pics on Insta (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt) and let us know if you’ve found any other brands that you like!

  • NEW! Korean Otome Game

WE HAVE FOUND THE BEST KOREAN OTOMOE APP OUT THERE!

We have spoken about our love of otome games and what they are exactly before. Now while Voltage among the many other brands that pump out otome games are Japanese, we had been super excited a few years ago when a Korean company came out with an amazingly interactive otome game. You probably know which one we are talking about but if not, Mystic Messenger is an amazingly fun game that we admit to spending some major coin on. Not just in the game but at Anime NYC last year as well.

And since we do have a monthly subscription to Voltage’s Love365 and play a lot of other otome games, we are constantly getting hit with similar game ads on Instagram, Twitter, and on the rare occasion we actually go to Facebook. We tend to skip past them as we are die hard Voltage fans. A lot of them are ads for the craptastic apps that are Episodes, Chapters, Choices and those odd ball games. Sorry if you use those. I did play them at one point but I soon realized most of the stories were poop. Watch Jenna Marbles video of her playing one of the games and you will see just how bad their story telling is. Seriously if you like those games download Love365, and any other otome game Voltage pumps out. You will never go back!

We have tried other brands and while some we have enjoyed and still play here and there, others were just TOO much for us to keep up with. For instance, while we love Mystic Messenger, we had to be on top of our phones at all times so we didn’t miss a call or text message from the characters. And we do mean all hours. Like at one point alarms for 3am were set so we didn’t miss the messages so we could get all the points we needed for all the images.

But this past weekend, we were graced with an ad for a new otome game app. The picture in the ad is what lured us in. While it had a similar vibe to those we have seen for Episodes or Chapters and such, there was something different. We can’t even tell you what but we clicked on the ad which took us to the app store. What caught our eyes was the brand that created the app. 시나몬게임즈 (sheenamongaeemjoo- Cinnamon Game)

A new Korean Otome game app?!?! You bet your sweet butt we downloaded that shiz faster than we care to admit. And were we happy we did.

Welcome to the Korean otome app called ‘Maybe’. While our pockets are not as thrilled, (we already bought the monthly subscription) these games are no joke in the romance department. NSFW and deliciously descriptive. The fashion? Amazing. The plot lines? Steamy. The photos you earn? Oh sweet Jesus!

Oh you know how our other obsession is BL? Yep. ‘Maybe’ has a BL otome game!! And we have started playing it as well.

Seriously this is one our greatest otome discoveries in a long time. We saw that the Korean version of the app has more stories so we do plan to download that at some point as well.

Have you guys played otome games? Have you heard of ‘Maybe’? Do you know of more Korean Otome games? Let us know on Instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt).

  • Top Sites To Learn Korean

We are not fluent Korean speakers here on Korean From Context. We have never claimed to be. And we are forever learning through our own website as well as the use of other methods. We want to pass on our favorite ways to learn Korean that don’t involve you having to use an educational book.

If the book helps you, go right ahead and use that book! For some people that is the way to go. We just find it isn’t the way we learn best.

We will say these tend to be a majority Audio/Visual ways to learn but we’ve noticed it’s been the most helpful for us.

Netflix – We talked about this a bit on our TikTok. We have used this method on so many occasions it seriously comes in handy. There are two reasons we love Netflix…and one of them is actually something we used to hate and have now learned to love!

The main way we use Netflix is simple. We choose a drama we have watched before with our native languages subtitles, and then pick scenes we like a lot/want to know the phrases from. We then go into the audio/subtitle options and change the subtitle to Korean closed caption. This is also great to learn descriptive words. For instance if a character sighs it would say [(character name)의 한숨 –(Character name)wee hansum – (characters name) sighs]. You can go back and forth between your native language and Korean as well as listening to how its being said and you will have the phrases down in no time!

The second way we use Netflix is to make phone flash cards! Sounds bizarre but hear us out. We like to screenshot scenes so we can remember the phrases. With the picture we are able to remember the scene. However with all the updates and copyright infringement, Netflix along with most streaming service have made screenshotting a scene not possible. A black screen will come up. BUT we found the subtitles still appear. Do you see where we are going with this? We have the Korean subtitle and a black screen. Use that black screen to write out the translation and BOOM you now have flash cards!

Viki – Viki is like Netlfix but better…and worse. Worse is because when trying to screenshot, not even subtitles show so all you get is an black screen. We have a notebook on our side to write down the phrases we want. Now the reason we LOVE Viki and why we believe it to be one step above Netflix is that you get the Korean subtitles and your native language subtitles AT. THE. SAME. TIME. Amazing in and of itself. But it gets better! You can pause and click on the Korean and it will read out the word! Amazing!

    HelloTalk
    – Our fav editor Aleda was the one who introduced us to this amazing site. For real this is an amazing site where you talk to native Korean speakers (or any other language you are looking to learn) and ask them any questions you need answered. And you can help them learn your native language.  It is a massive social networking site dedicated to helping people learn a new language. Once you get past the thirsty people (and tbh there are a lot) you will find amazing people you can talk to not only messaging back and forth but also talk on the phone, via the site, to practice your language skills. We have met a few people that have become friends as well as tutors. We appreciate this app immensely.

Web K-Dramas – This is a very similar outlet to Netflix however you can screenshot the scenes so that the visual helps with the Korean. We also have found we get sucked into these a lot faster because most of the series are 10-15 minute episodes so they are quick, usually cute, and have introduced us to a lot of amazing new/up and coming actors. A lot of the companies put the Korean subtitles due to different dialects and also the hearing impaired, and then on top of that, you can add your languages subtitles. You can see both at the same time. Peep out Instagram profile photo to see what we mean. Some of the few channels we suggest are King Of Korean-dramas, Studio Dia, and dingo story.

Our Website (Korean From Context) – Well ain’t this just some shameless self-promotion? Yep. It is. But we really do think that our concept of learning Korean is a fun one. We use our books (Seoul Searching and soon to be more) to help you use English to learn Korean. Yes, we said what we said. We use what a person knows in English to help them figure out what is happening in Korean. Start reading, and learning, today!

Pinterest – this is the site for flash cards! We have hundreds if not thousands of different kinds of flash cards. There are cards with K-pop idols or K-drama actors on them with phrases. There are cards with massive breakdowns of different types of environments, phrases for different situations, etc. We love using this, however we realized when we save too many on a board it becomes hard to find phrases we are looking for. Our suggestion might be breaking down boards to certain criteria to keep the boards better maintained.

These are some of our favorite ways to learn Korean. We hope they help you! And if you have any other suggestions please let us know on Instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt). We would love to know how your learning that can maybe help us as well!

  • STYLE IT: GUCCI SWEATER VEST

A Gucci sweater vest? When did sweater vests become trendy? Better question, why? I personally blame Dr. Spencer Reid of Criminal Minds for making ‘nerdy chic’ a thing that now makes our hearts swoon. And now we have Bright (one half of the fake power couple that is BrightWin) for bringing this Gucci sweater vest into our lives to make us swoon some more.

Let’s start with how an ‘idol’ would style this look. Now, Bright is not a Korean idol, but he does seem to take a lot of style tips from them. And so, when him and Win were styled by Bazaar magazine, they served looks on top of looks! One look that caught my attention was the sweater vest. A thick, chunky knit, red, yellow, and green striped sweater vest, with a stiff nylon bomber style jacket, and a nice pair of dress pants. A not so common mix of articles that came together to look rugged and sexy.

I loved the look and I had most of the pieces to even emulate it. But the one thing I most definitely did not have was a knit sweater vest. I shared a picture of him on KFC’s Instagram and a friend of mine, one of my best and most talented friends, reached out to me and said she wanted to make the vest. Obviously, I told her to do it because I would be the first one to buy it from her! (If your friend has a small business you support it! You hear me! Pay full price!)

So my idol styling is a recreation of Bright’s photoshoot style. The jacket was thrifted, it’s an old suede Talbot’s jacket, the pants were a steal from my mom’s closet, the velvet boots are Sam Elderman, and the top (not Gucci) is from Rizzles and Things. While I felt like a bad ass, I also the look was not my style at all. Bright you can rock it, I cannot.

My style is much more wearable, for me at least. I loved the top and wanted it to be the center of attention. So I paired the top with a white, vintage Dior pencil skirt, another steal from mom’s closet, and my wedding shoes, a pair of iridescent studded Christian Louboutin’s (the most expensive piece of fashion I own).

So what do you think? Do you like the outfits? How would you style the outfits? We would love to hear from you! Hit us up on Instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt) And if you want your very own Bright Gucci sweater vest without shelling out $800+ dollars then head over to Rizzles and Things’ instagram page! • K.B.R – The Face Shop’s Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Cleansing Stick

The name maybe long, but the product is worth the mouthful. I had actually bought this product as a substitute for an item The Face Shop had discontinued. It was specifically for blackheads and why it was discontinued will hurt me and leave me questioning the world until my days here in Earth are done.

But I needed something for my nose and the blackheads that always seem to plague that region of my face. One of the women at The Face Shop in NYC recommended this stick.

The 제주 화산토 모공 클리어 블랙해드 스틱 (Jeju hwasantoe mogung kooleeoh bulackhaedoo sooteek- jeju volcanic soil pore correcting black head stick) became a blessing. When opening it, I wasn’t surpsired to see it was a dark gray with little spots of black throughout. What was surprising was those black spots, being a fine but coarse material that when rubbed across my nose felt like it was actually getting the job done.

After using this routinely over the course of a month my nose started to look and feel like a baby’s bottom. The best part of the product is it isn’t just for your nose. No! It can be used on your whole face.

I don’t do that as I find sometimes the abrasiveness can make my skin irritated, but whenever I feel a pimple forming, usually on my chin and near my lips, I use this stick to gently scrub the area. Within a day or two the pimple is virtually gone.

This product is part of a line of Jeju Volcanic Lava items at The Face Shop. They have a clay mask for the nose specifically, a self-heating mask for the whole face, and even nose strips (better than biore in my opinion). We love the entire line of products.

We give this a near perfect 10. 9.8 to be exact. The only reason for the .2 drop is that it’s gone too fast.

Check out the product on their site (thefaceshop.com) or their many Instagrams (they have one for every country they are located in so find your local one and enjoy).

  • ME VS. AN IDOL

Have you ever been shopping and seen a clothing item that makes you say, “Oh I can see an idol wearing this!”

But then you walk away thinking you could never pull it off the way they do?

    US TOO!

That got us to thinking. Even though we wouldn’t wear the clothing in the same fashion they did, what’s to say we couldn’t wear it our way and remember the fun in making their style our own?

Our newest addition to the blog is the playing on this idea. We pick an item in the closet and style it how we would see an idol style it, and then how we would style the item.

Welcome to Me vs. An Idol!

The first item is a Calvin Klein Black Long Sleeve Performance Top. To be totally honest I bought this top 100% because Bright from 2gether wore it in an Insta post, and then Win wore a similar one a few days later. I rushed to my computer, went to score some miles using my mileage shopping website (gotta get to Korea on a budget) and luckily Calvin was having a sale and I was able to grab this top at 50% off.

    Idol Styling:

For some reason I saw this was top and instantly thought I could see it as something any idol would wear during a filmed dance practice video. And so I tried to make a casual, cute, but still danceable outfit. I paired the top with a pair of black denim short from a small brand adora that I am obsessed with, some knee high track socks from Cotton On, work boots from Khombu, and finally a Vikings jacket courtesy of my husband.

    My styling:

I loved my idol outfit, but for a day to day look, I am very uncomfortable wearing shorts, and booty shorts are def not work appropriate. So I chose to dress the shirt up with a nice high waisted pleated white pant raided from my mom’s closet, and heels from Frances Valentine made this look simple, classic and chic. Too bad I haven’t been into my office in over 3 months to actually rock this look.

So what do you think? Do you like the outfits? How would you style the outfits? We would love to hear from you! Hit us up on Instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt)

  • Buy us a Ko-fi

I know you’re probably like, “How dumb is this girl?! She can’t even spell coffee correctly. And we’re supposed to trust her to teach us Korean?!”

But if you let me explain I promise I can try and get you back on my side…and also get you spelling Ko-fi like this.

I started Korean From Context a little over a year ago and every time we get a little bigger I get excited. I see a bright future, I get larger dreams, I add more goals to what I hope the site can accomplish. But with the growth comes a bunch of stress. I never want to let the people who follow us down but sometimes I simply cant’ put my whole heart into the site due to life around me.

While I have help from Lindsay and Aleda, they also have their own lives to live and jobs to do.

My goal with this site, aside from the main one of helping people learn Korean in a fun new way, is to have it be a full-time gig. That way I can put forth my effort 110% and give you everything I have dreamed up for this site.

I know that is a lofty goal. And with such a lofty goal comes the sad but all too real truth that, this goal would require something. As our favorite bad boy Sul Bin said so simply…돈 (don- money).

And I know as k-pop and k-drama stans, we want to spend our money on albums and merch. So here is a way to help Korean From Context keep helping you and not take too much away from your Korean merch buying money.

Ko-fi is a site where artists (writers, graphic designer, photographers, cosplayers and more!) offer special incentives to people who ‘buy them a cup of coffee’. The ‘coffee’ really helps pay for the continuation of building their craft and keeping their fans happy.

If you have heard of Patreon, Ko-fi, is very similar. However, it is more lenient on the coffee buyer as well as the coffee receiver. You can pay once and never pay again. Or you can pay monthly and can receive some special goodies every month.

Those special goodies from us would include:

    Deleted scenes from the novels

    Unpublished photographs

    Short Scenarios

(We are working on some more stuff as well)

In the future we even hope to do commission pieces of writing. 1-2 page scenarios, just for you and your eyes only (unless you want to share with friends), with whatever plot line and characters you would want and new Korean phrases to keep you learning.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of please check out our ko-fi page and maybe buy us a Ko-fi? CLICK HERE

IF YOU READ THIS FAR…The first 5 people to buy us coffee will receive a gift! DM us on instagram (@koreanfromcontext) or on Twitter (@koreanfrmcntxt) with proof. Once verified we will send you a massive k-pop or k-drama thank you 😉

  • K.B.R. – The YEON Vita7 Energy Peeling Gel

Every beauty regimen needs a starting point. And ours is The YEON Vita7 Energy Peeling Gel. Before we even talk about the actual product, can we talk about the product’s packaging?! It’s a freaking orange! To be more specific, it is the 한라봉 (hanrabong – hallabong orange) grown on the famous 제주도 (jejudoe – Jeju Island) in Korea. When you unscrew the orange you are hit with a rejuvenating scent of citrus. It could be simply our opinion, but it is unlike any other citrus we have smelled before.

Before even wetting your face, you take a scoop of this magic, citrus paste and put a few little dabs on your face. Spread it around your face and you will already feel it start to work. Scrubbing gently, dead skin and oils will start to come off in clumps. Yes, kinda gross, but when you wash it off…OMG the soft feeling of your skin is UNREAL!

We love this product! We have only used one or two of these types of products before and one left our face feeling extremely oily, and the other burned afterwards.

Our rating of this product: 9.4 out of 10! (The only reason it isn’t a perfect 10 is because it can get a little messy with the packaging and the seal not sitting properly.)

Check out The Yeon on Instagram (@theyeon_official) or hit up their website (www.theyeon.net)  to get your 한라봉 Vita7 Energy Peeling Gel today!

  • 너의 시선이 머무는 곳에EPI 7-8 (FINAL)

Prepare the tissues people. Not only because these are the last two episodes, but because they are tear jerkers! We don’t even want to write this article. We can’t accept the show is over. But we can’t leave the amazing people who have been watching (and reading) along with us hanging. So here we go. The final review. *deep breaths…try not to sob*

WARNING: THE REST OF THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS! IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS YET, DO NOT READ FURTHER!

7화  – 화해 (hwa hae- reconciliation)

Now last episode we watched, was left off with 강 국 getting back to their shared home to see it had looked to be ransacked and 내 주 was gone. And our boy 강 국 goes on a quest to find out who took the love of his life and where he could possibly be. Since there is a tracker in내 주’s phone, 강 국 rides around the streets of Seoul to find where his man has been taken. Only to find the phone tossed in a garbage site.

When he believes all hope is lost, bully buddy calls asking 강 국 to meet. Adding that it’s about내 주. So you know our boy hops on his bike to find out what exactly bully buddy knows. And does bully buddy know a LOT.

Why? OH because he is the one who ratted out 강 국 and 내 주 kissing to 내 주’s father! (Even though they didn’t actually kiss) BRUH! We were rooting for you! We were all rooting for you! While we are mad that he did it, we get that he was trying to help his father from losing his job, and he seemed to be upset about it. He let 강 국 know that 내 주 was going to be sent to England. Upon hearing this, 강 국 punched bully buddy and drove away. Smart move.

And while all of this is transpiring, 내 주 is in his father’s house, on his knees begging for his father not to harm 강 국. Saying that it wasn’t 강 국’s fault and that he himself was the only one who had feelings more than friendship between them. His father was clearly not believing it and with the callousness of the douchebag CEO he is, insults 내 주 by calling him weak like his mother. 내 주 being a badass, speaks up saying to never speak of his mother like that and that’s when they get notice from the security that 강 국 had arrived.

강 국 arrives at 내 주’s father’s house where security guard after security guard come to attack him and take him down. But he isn’t going to let that shiz happen. He was there for one reason and one reason only. To see the man he loves! BANG! POW! SHAZAM! He takes those mother truckers down with ease. But not without getting some badass future scars of his own.

That’s where we think the episode ends. But then, we see two girls walking an alley to our spirit animal’s restaurant talking about seeing some guy. As they enter, they pause and the camera pans over. Our boy 강 국 with a bright smile and an even brighter yellow sweater is serving food to the many other fawning females. (tbh we would’ve been there in a heartbeat as well)

    But wait…what?!?!

OUR FAV SCENE: When 강 국 punches bully buddy. Let’s be real, dude deserved WAY more of a beating for the dumb shiz he pulled. But I am glad 강 국 restrained his anger. He had bigger fish to fry anyway.

Our cutest scene: There wasn’t a cute scene in this episode. This was dramatic as dramatic gets.

Our least fav scene: We once again didn’t have one. Sure, we were mad a bully buddy for what he did but it made for the plot so we get why it needed to happen.

8화 – 내가 좋아하니가 (Naega neol juhaneeka – because I like you)

And here is where we get the explanation.

After kicking most of the security guards asses, 강 국 walks into the house to see 내 주 on his knees. The father, who we have already established is the king of douches, continues his reign by thanking 강 국 for his hard work for the last 15 years but that he effed up by kissing his son and doesn’t deserve to even walk on the same ground as him. (Which, let’s make clear, THEY DIDN’T ACTUALLY KISS!)

강 국 agrees to the sentiment. Stating he knew he had nothing more to lose, as he was about to lose his job, the man he loved, and everything he knew, he asks for one thing. 5 minutes to talk with 내 주. Instead of agreeing, his father chooses to let his security guards beat the eff out of him. 내 주 can’t handle seeing it and says to his father he will go to England. He will be a good student and go off to university. In return he asks to spend one more night in his home (aka: where him and 강 국 live together)

The father agrees to this and our boys return home. 내 주 takes care of 강 국 asking why he came with him. To which 강 국 responds similarly to 내 주 in previous episodes by saying ‘do you really not know?’

Upset that dawn is already approaching, meaning the end of their time together, 내 주 asks what did they do to deserve such a short amount of time left. And this is where we held our breath and probably didn’t stop until the end of the episode.

강 국 grabs 내 주 by the hand and walks them to their bedroom. Holy shizbots did we think some 18+ fun times were about to go down. But this is the first well recognized Korean BL drama and they really aren’t about to throw that at us. (Thai BL just started showing tongue) But 강 국 wraps 내 주 in a hug and finally confesses his feelings. THANK YOU, LORD! 내 주 while embracing his lover pulls them down onto the bed.

Can you see why we stopped breathing? Oh, and it continues from there. 내 주 jokingly asks why 강 국 is telling him this as he is set to leave in a few hours. And that he didn’t even get to kiss him when he had the chance. OUR. BOY. 강 국. PULLS내 주 CLOSER! Now, not only are we not breathing, we are kicking the air and squeezing our pillows within an inch of their lives.

But 내 주 shuts it down by saying he isn’t a pervert and isn’t going to kiss a man who’s lip is bleeding. 강 국 wishes내 주 luck in England and asked 내 주 if they would see each other again. Of course 내 주 promises that they will meet again however 강 국 asks for them to not meet again so that they could move on.

Now comes us not breathing while also sobbing. 내 주 packs and tries to leave stealthily all the while hoping and knowing that 강 국 is awake keeping his eyes on him one last time.

And here is where the end of the previous episode makes sense. Three years had passed and 강 국 is off to Japan, which that crushed us, and spirit animal mom is just as crushed as we are. She gives him extra money for his travels and won’t stop hugging him because she is going to miss him.

We also nailed that fact that bully buddy would date ugh girl. It made us giggle. Which btw, they are all friends, and bully buddy actually has been keeping in touch with 내 주, even telling him of 강 국’s plan to go to Japan.

And here comes the scene where we finally breathe, scream, cry and beg for the show not to be over. The end. 강 국 is dressed to the effin nines. Black trench, white sweater, black dress pants, and black patent leather shoes, paired with his well styled hair, is walking with his suitcase past a lake to take his last look at Seoul before he leaves. He sits on a swinging bench, reflecting, choosing to leave Korea so he can forget the man he loves.

And then he hears that man’s voice saying that he had turned off the tracker on his phone. Unsure he is hearing correctly, he looks around to see someone sitting at the swinging bench next to him. As the mystery person stands we see exactly who we know it to be.

강 국 walks up to 내 주 who says it’s their time to runaway together to be happy. Prepare yourself because this is when you might snap your computer in half, punch your TV, or throw your phone, because we were tempted to. 내 주. PLAYS. WITH. 강 국’S. EAR! This man does what he knows will get the reaction he wants. And oh does he get it. 강 국 wraps his hand around the back of 내 주’s neck and pulls him in for a kiss. Followed up by a sexy and very happy smirk, concluded with ANOTHER KISS!

YES! YES! YES! YES! WE GOT A MOTHER EFFING HAPPY ENDING!!! YES WE DID!!

OUR FAV SCENE: Do we really need to say? Come on people?! THE KISS!! It was so sweet. It was extremely tame, which we expected, but was it worth the wait? ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY.

Our cutest scene: When 강 국 confesses his feelings and they fall into the bed and have a heart to heart. It was our first ‘FINALLY’ moment of the episode. They knew each other’s true feelings and while they know they shouldn’t have, they wished they could’ve acted on it sooner.

Our least fav scene: None absolutely none. Sure, we hate the father. He is a trash man, but not one bad scene in this episode.

We cannot believe this show is over. We had been waiting months for this series and within four weeks it has come to an end. 장의수 and 한기찬 made our hearts soar to amazing highs with their chemistry. They could make us smile, cry, fall in love, get all giddy inside, and feel our hearts clench, when they came onto the screen together. We are so thankful to the Korean companies that finally decided the BL stories were worth telling. We cannot wait to see more BL dramas hit main stream Korean Dramas, and we cannot wait to see more of the two leading men of this drama who stole our hearts and souls. 감사합니다.
